DIRECTOR : Brink Norton

Brink is originally from Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Choral Music Education. After teaching music for 10 years in Alexander City, Alabama, he moved to the Lowcountry in 2007. Brink works in the Communications Office at Porter-Gaud School, and he just completed his tenure as Director of Upper School Choirs in 2022.  

He performs around the Southeast as the tenor in The Charlestones, the premier a cappella group in the Lowcountry. He lives on John’s Island with his wife, Kristyn. He has a daughter who will soon graduate from Belmont University, and two stepsons, ages 11 and 14. Brink enjoys golf, fishing, photography, and tennis in his limited free time.

ACCOMPANIST : Andrea Roule

Andrea Roule was born and raised in Ocala, FL and moved to Greenville, TN at the beginning of high school. She is a classically trained pianist from the age of 3, competed and performed from childhood into college, and then pursued a BA in music and an MM in accompanying/opera coaching from the University of Tennessee. In 2006 she began her career accompanying for Opera Carolina and working as a studio accompanist at Winthrop University.

In 2008 she and her husband married in Charlotte, NC and in 2010 they moved to Pittsburgh, PA where Andrea studied at Duquesne University to become a Board-Certified Music Therapist. In 2012 they moved south and put roots down on Johns Island, SC where their family grew to include 2 beautiful daughters.

Andrea has been working at Porter-Gaud School since 2019 as an accompanist, piano teacher, and lower school music teacher. In addition, Andrea also teaches private piano lessons and is the pianist at Rockville Presbyterian Church. Andrea enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach or the pool, gardening, playing games, and of course enjoying music as much as possible!

BOARD OF DIRECTORS :

Seaside Singers is led by volunteers from the choir.  The current Board of Directors consists of Barbara Brown, Carol Hallman, Betsy Heinmiller, Jan Kerrigan, and Penny Portman.
