Membership + Rehearsals

MEMBERSHIP – JOIN US!

Membership is open to men and women who love to sing, can commit to attending rehearsals and performances, and have a general knowledge of reading music (you don’t have to be an expert). Prior chorus experience is desirable, but not required. There is no formal audition.

Dues for each season are $90 and are payable by the first rehearsal.*  New members have two weeks to decide if the choir is a good fit before paying dues.

Seaside Singers is a member driven organization. Many members support the chorus by volunteering for chorus jobs and projects, such as:

Taking photos and videos
Helping with concert set-up and take-down
Recruiting chorus members
Recruiting concert ushers
Soliciting Patrons

*No person is denied participation due to an inability to pay. The chorus treasurer is happy to speak with anyone who would like to discuss a reduction in or waiver of dues or setting up a payment plan.  Arrangements are kept confidential.  For information contact Barbara Brown at (843) 849-8216.

REHEARSALS

The chorus rehearses Monday evenings at Sunrise Presbyterian Church located at 3222 Middle Street on Sullivan’s Island at Breach Inlet.

Rehearsals begin at 6:45 pm and end promptly at 8:45 pm

Members are expected to attend weekly rehearsals, including a dress rehearsal on the Saturday morning preceding the concert.

The chorus hosts 2 concerts annually, one in the Spring and the other in the Fall.  Singers register for the season(s) fitting their availability to attend rehearsals and concerts. Enrollment closes with the second rehearsal of each season. Prospective members are welcome to attend a rehearsal within the first two weeks of the season to see if the chorus is a good fit.
